The Avant Garde Glagolitic project marries the ancient Glagolitic script—a Slavic creation from the 9th century—with the dynamic, abstract forms of early 20th-century avant-garde movements like Suprematism and Constructivism. Both emerged from Slavic cultural contexts, making them natural companions in this exploration. My process involved studying the geometric purity of Glagolitic letterforms and reinterpreting them through the lens of abstractionism, prioritizing bold shapes and deliberate invention.

Проект Avant Garde Glagolitic соединяет древнюю глаголицу — славянскую письменность IX века — с динамичными абстрактными формами раннего авангарда XX столетия, такими как супрематизм и конструктивизм. Оба явления родились в славянском культурном пространстве, поэтому их диалог кажется естественным и органичным. В работе я исследовал геометрическую чистоту глаголических знаков и переосмыслял их через оптику абстракционизма, делая акцент на смелых формах и сознательной изобретательности.

This project has produced over 12 characters, each a distinctive fusion of Glagolitic heritage and avant-garde innovation. It celebrates the enduring spirit of Slavic creativity while pushing the boundaries of traditional typography. Version 1.0 of the font is now ready and available for download.
